A week ago the Public Service Fale (NZ) upon the request from the Government of Tuvalu facilitated for the first time an in-country training on the Foundations of Leadership (FoL) from 24-27 February 2025. 28 senior public servants attended this in-country training.
This program has been an invaluable opportunity for Tuvalu’s senior public servants to enhance their leadership skills, networking, gain practical insights, and strengthen their confidence as managers in the public service. The training provided essential tools, frameworks, and strategies that will support senior civil servants in leading effectively, especially in times of change.
A special acknowledgment to our Permanent Secretaries, Acting Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries and Head of Departments for their continued commitment to capacity-building, the facilitators of the training from Public Service Fale, Tania Oolders and Leah Corbett, Recource persons/Speakers Dr. Puakena Boreham and Mr Aunese Makoi Simati for sharing their leadership journeys and insights on leadership in Tuvalu and to the Chairperson of the PSC, Mrs Aoga Kofe, for her leadership and support in making this initiative possible.
This collaboration with the Public Service Fale (NZ) highlights the power of partnerships in strengthening the Tuvalu Public Service, ensuring future leaders are well-equipped to serve the people of Tuvalu with excellence.
Fakafetai lasi and we look forward to future engagements with the Public Service Fale (NZ).
