Today marks a significant milestone for the Government of Tuvalu on the signing of credentials for the two ambassadors of Tuvalu designated to the United Arab <\/a>Emirates, and the Republic of China, Taiwan by the Governor-General, His Excellency Rev. Sir Tofinga Vaevalu Falani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants at the event also witnessed the signing of the ambassador\u2019s contracts with the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Labor, and Trade, Mr. Pasuna Tuaga. Dr. Tauisi Taupo is appointed as the Ambassador-designate to the UAE while Ms. Lily Tangisia Faavae is appointed as the Ambassador-designate to Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address at the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Labor, and Trade Hon. Paulson Panapa, extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Taupo and Ms. Faavae, who are set to assume their positions next month. He emphasized their vital role in further strengthening Tuvalu\u2019s ties with Abu Dhabi and Taiwan while exploring new opportunities for collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe look forward to deepening our cooperation in critical areas such as education, health, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainable development,\u201d the Minister stated. \u201cRemember that you have been chosen by the Government and the people of Tuvalu to represent our sovereign nation. Carry our values with pride, hold your heads high, and keep our flag flying.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Dr. Taupo and Ms. Faavae expressed their gratitude to the Government for the trust placed in them. They acknowledged the significant responsibility of representing Tuvalu and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relationships with Abu Dhabi and Taiwan, as well as exploring new pathways for cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In closing, Secretary to Government, Dr. Tufoua Panapa also extended his congratulations to the two ambassadors, highlighting their commendable service since assuming their roles in secretaries, one in 2020 and the other in 2021. He remarked, \u201cYou both have demonstrated exceptional commitment and professionalism. As the final two secretaries from the previous administration, we recognize and appreciate your valuable contributions to public service, particularly as you transition into your new roles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
